The lab’s cleaning facility has several machines that can carry out “finishing touches” such as gravity table seed separators, magnetic sorters as well as an optical sorter. The facility’s staff can make use of these machines, which increase the number of physical characteristics that can be used to isolate high quality seed from the impurities that remain in the batch, such as :
- the colour
- porosity or the ability to absorb water
- seed density
- the ability to gain speed on a slope
- the form
These machines provide additional solutions in the complicated cases and can even be used to try and improve the quality of the batch, in particular in terms of the germination capacity of the seeds.
